What is Blue Force Tracking and what is its primary purpose?
Answer:
Blue Force Tracking, also referred to as GPS Friendly Target, is a MASS feature designed to identify friendly personnel or vehicles using GPS and correlate their location with targets detected by Magos radars. Its primary purpose is to recognize friendly targets so they do not trigger alarms.
How does the system work from device to radar target correlation?
Answer:
Personnel or vehicles carry an Android smartphone or tablet running a Magos application that reports its GPS location to the Magos cloud service. The MASS server maintains a connection with the cloud service and uses this GPS data to correlate the device's location with radar tracks.
What field hardware and network requirements are needed to deploy Blue Force Tracking?
Answer:
Deployment requires an Android smartphone or tablet for each friendly person or vehicle, the Magos-provided application, a SIM card with an active 4G or 5G connection, and internet connectivity for the MASS server to communicate with the Magos cloud GPS service.
Which operating systems and software versions are currently supported?
Answer:
As of August 19, 2026, the feature explicitly supports Android devices only. Supported software includes MASS 3.26.2 and Android APK version 1.8.2 (obtainable from the Support team).
Does Blue Force Tracking support vehicles as well as personnel?
Answer:
Yes, the feature explicitly supports both personnel and vehicles, such as distinguishing security patrol and maintenance vehicles.
Is Blue Force Tracking a standard feature or does it require separate licensing?
Answer:
Blue Force Tracking requires a dedicated license and is subject to additional costs.
